East Devon is a borough constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the Empire of Great Britain. It has been held fourteen times over fourteen sessions of Parliament. It is sometimes incorrectly referred to as "East Devonshire". Best known for being the long-time constituency of former Prime Minister, Thomas Carew, it has remained one of the most well-recognised constituencies in British Politics since 2023. Carew held the seat for 9 consecutive sessions before he retired to the Lords, upon which his wife, Josephine Carew, Marchioness of Dorchester replaced him for two sessions: upon her own retirement, Carew returned to represent the constituency.
The constituency is the home of a majority of the Carew Family's largest landholdings, including the Knightstone Estate.
It is Thomas Carew's registered Constituency of Interest.
