Interviews

Dorchester on the Record (Kirkwall Lantern)

In an exclusive interview for Scottish newspaper The Kirkwall Lantern, Thomas Carew, The Marquess of Dorchester was interviewed by Charles Wright, The Viscount Kirkwall on both the previous term and the Unionist Manifesto, known as The Dorchester Memorandum. The interview was one of the most comprehensive in recent memory. Notable moments included Wrights' continued questioning of Carew's position on the scandals of the Common Cause Alliance and the Warwick Premiership, such as the media case against The Independent, and some of Carew's manifesto ideas, such as the return of the Interest Rate and a deregulation of the National Shop.

One of the most contentious moments came when Wright presented a line of questioning about Government Leaks, in which he highlighted the fact that the journalist who leaked the information - albeit provided to him by an unknown source - was a member of the Unionist Party. Carew rebuked the charges, and said that the "The suggestion that the Unionist Party controls or somehow deliberately influences the media is utter codswallop."
