The Green Sovereignty Party was a political party in the Empire of Great Britain. Its incumbent leader is Oliver Villiers, The Baron Braybrooke.

Founded ahead of the June 2025 General Election by Sir Oliver Villiers, the party reflects Villers personal politics, with a significant focus on pro-Green policies and environmentalism, alongside a deep reverence for religion and for the monarchy. The Green Party has contested several elections since then, steadily growing in size and influence, though, following the February 2026 General Election, collapsed into irrelevance.

History

Originally founded in June 2025 by Oliver Villiers, the party was already being formulated a month beforehand, during the tumultous Second Premiership of the Duke of Warwick, where scandals in Government had caused Villiers to call for an early General Election. Founding the Party from Audley End, he achieved election to the Commons, but decided not to enter Government alongside the Unionist Party and Progressive Commonwealth Party, instead forming an Opposition. The party did not contest the following two elections, before returning for the two December General Elections: in the first, they achieved a win for Villiers, before in the second, they increased their seats to two with the inclusion of Albus Carew Somerset. This, due to vote count, meant they overtook the PCP as the second largest party in the Commons, and they entered Government for the first time in positions such as Deputy Prime Minister (for Villiers) and Chancellor of the Exchequer (for Carew Somerset). A further by-election win by Diarmaid Figg pushed the party up to three seats, equalling the Unionists (but behind on vote share), before accusations of inactivity meant that Albus Carew Somerset was expelled, with Villiers narrowly escaping the same fate.

In the February 2026 General Election, the Greens were originally expected to contest the Premiership with Braybrooke, and field a number of candidates upwards of 4 or 5 at the minimum at its peak, and no other party at the time had anywhere close to the voting bloc or momentum. However, the Greens, by the end of the Thomond Premiership, had reduced in size and run out of steam following activity controversies and the confirmation that Philip Somerset was also contesting the election: ultimately, Braybrooke remained as Leader but declined to stand in the election, with only August Carew Somerset, The Marquess of Thomond - who defected from the Unionists - running for Parliament.
