The First December 2025 General Election was held from the 30 November 2025 to the 4 December 2025. It was the thirteenth election held under the electoral system known as the Romefeller Method adopted by the Representation of the People Act 2024. It resulted in a hung parliament between a Unionist-Green Coalition, led by the incumbent Prime Minister, August Carew, 2nd Earl of Strathmore, and the Progressive Commonwealth Party Coalition led by Esther Sherwood-Wright.
A failure for either side to command the confidence of a majority of the Commons after two days of negotiation resulted in both party leaders agreeing to another election. Owing to the fact that the State Opening of Parliament never occured, this election never resulted in an actual Parliament, a new election was called, with that election instead deciding the composition of the 43rd Session of Parliament. This was the first time in regional history that an election, after the appropiate time of negotiation, heralded no winner, and as a result, no PM or party officially claimed the electoral victory. The Prime Minister, August Carew, continued on in a caretaker administration, an extension of the Second Strathmore Ministry, until the conclusion of the election that shortly followed this one.
