Josephine Somerset Carew, The Duchess of Bedford's third tenure as Prime Minister of Great Britain began on 28 August 2025, when she accepted an invitation from King George VII to form a government in his name, following her win in the September 2025 General Election. Her premiership occurred during the 42nd Parliament of Great Britain. During this time, she also served as Leader of the Unionist Party and First Lord of the Treasury. She was the eighth Prime Minister of George VII, and the sixth to be elected in his reign. Bedford is one of the few elected prime ministers who have previously served in all Great Offices of State. She is the first and only to have previously served as Secretary of State for Regional Development.
