The Minister of State for Administrative Affairs is a junior ministerial position within HM Government, specifically under the remit of the Prime Minister directly, or the Cabinet Office. The responsibilities of the position are diverse and widespread, with the position used mostly to confer individuals with the ability to attend Cabinet Meetings. They are appointed by the Sovereign on the advise of the Prime Minister.
The role was first held by Tiff, the Chief Mouser of His Majesty's Government at the time, and soon became a role associated with the pet of the Prime Minister, and gave said pet the right to attend cabinet. Five Prime Ministers, all Unionists, have appointed individuals to the position. It is also the only position in the history of the region where an incumbent has passed away in office: Jessie, the dog of August Carew Somerset, The Marquess of Thomond passed away in January 2026. In March 2026, Philip Somerset, opened nominations for a new Minister of State, with Bobby the only fielded candidate. He was the first pet to serve under a different PM in this role.
