The Marchioness of Harewood is a title in the Peerage of Great Britain. The seat of the marquessate is Harewood House and its surrounding estate in Harewood, West Yorkshire. The current holder is Josephine Carew, The Marchioness of Harewood. The title was created on 29 April 2025 by George VII in celebration of his coronation. [1] This elevation was in recognition of "loyal and exceptional service in Government, Parliament, and to the Crown."

Meanwhile, its subsidiaries were created on 19 November 2024 by Charles III in recognition of Carew's past service. [2] These titles also came under a special remainder "that the titles shall be non-hereditary and shall be deemed extinct on the departure of [Lady Strathmore] from the Empire". On 16 February 2025, George VII removed the special remainder in recognition "of the good works performed by Lady Strathmore". [3] She was also created Lady of the Manor of Durness on 16 February 2025 by George VII for the 37th Parliament Dissolution Honours List. [4]

The Marquessate comes with the courtesy titles of The Countess of Strathmore, The Viscountess Althorp, The Baroness Coleridge, and Lady of the Manor of Durness.
