The Huntingdon Caretaker Ministry was established on 11 November 2024, following the resignation of the August Carew-Grey, The Baron Calder & Wilton, from the office of Prime Minister. Charles Wright, The Baron Huntingdon, assumed the role of Prime Minister at the recommendation of the Baron Calder & Wilton, forming a caretaker government to guide the nation until the upcoming general election.

One of his first actions was to reappoint Nicholas Burke as Chancellor of the Exchequer. Burke’s earlier resignation had precipitated the departure of the previous Prime Minister, the Baron Calder & Wilton. In a notable decision, Wright also appointed Sirch Somerset, The Marquess Lorne as Secretary of State for the Foreign Office, despite Somerset's retirement from political life. Wright and Somerset both have a long standing professional and private relationship, allowing him to call upon Somerset's extensive politcal expertise without issue.

Additionally, Wright requested that James Spencer, The Baron Scarborough, and Thomas Carew, The Viscount Sidmouth, to continue in their current roles until the general election, ensuring stability within the ministry during the transitional period.
