The Countess of Strathmore is a title in the Peerage of Great Britain. The seat of the earldom is Mamhead House and its surrounding estate in Mamhead, Devon, although the title refers to the Valley of Strathmore. The current holder is Josephine Carew, The Countess of Strathmore. The title and its subsidiaries were created on 19 November 2024 by Charles III in recognition of Carew's past service in previous lives. [1] These titles also came under a special remainder "that the titles shall be non-hereditary and shall be deemed extinct on the departure of [Lady Strathmore] from the Empire". On 16 February 2025, George VII removed the special remainder in recognition "of the good works performed by Lady Strathmore". [2]

The Earldom comes with the courtesy titles of Viscountess Althorp, Baroness Coleridge, and Lady of the Manor of Durness.
