Viscount Sidmouth is a title in the Peerage of Great Britain created by Charles III during the 32nd Parliaments Dissolution Honours on 23 June 2024 for Thomas Carew, Baron Knightstone to acknowledge his "strong, steady, committed, loyal, and dedicated service to the Crown, His Majesty's Government, and the Empire of Great Britain as Lord High Steward and Prime Minister of Great Britain.". [1] The title also has the subsidiary title of the Baron Knightstone. The eldest child of Lord Sidmouth is entitled to use the courtesy title of "Lord Knightstone", in the case of a male, or "Lady Knightstone" in the case of a female. The other children of Lord Sidmouth without a substantive title of their own hold the courtesy appanage "of Sidmouth".
