Team Changes

Two new teams joined the grid for this season: Rust-eze, owned by Xavier Sherwood, and Halton, owned by Owain Carew-Grey. Rust-eze quickly signed up to the Mercedes Engine program but could not gain full works status, owing to the long-term projects at Henrarchians and Kilns. Halton had the same problem but owing to the lacklustre performances of the Ferrari Engine and the associated press with its two works teams - Septis Star and Scuderia Pole-Sitters - Halton could secure a more equal deal for closer-spec engines.

Driver Changes

Halton and Rust-eze fielded all new driver line-ups in Weathers and de Vroom for Rust-eze, and Sackville and Ellice for Halton respectively.

Scoring System

Points were awarded to the top ten classified drivers, the driver who was on provisional pole, and the driver who set the fastest lap. In the case of a penalty for the original pole-sitter, no-one recieves the extra point. In the case of a tie on points a countback system was used where the driver with the best results is ranked higher, if the best result was identical then the next best result was considered. The points were awarded for every race using the following system:

Position  1st   2nd   3rd   4th   5th   6th   7th   8th   9th   10th   FL & P
Points 25 18 15 12 10 8 6 4 2 1 1
