My Kindest Regards is a political memoir by former British Prime Minister Thomas Carew, The Earl of Devon. Originally teased to be in the works in the Summer of 2024 following Carew's departure from 10 Downing Street, the updated cover was announced on the 30 November 2024, with the first Chapter being released the following day. It gives a chronological insight into his political career, from his beginnings as a Junior Minister and then a member of the Heron Party, all the way up to the conclusion of his second Premiership.
History
Carew had referenced during the last weeks of his tenure as PM in the Summer of 2024 that he was planning to release a memoir based on his time in 10 Downing Street, with the working title of "The Downing Street Years", a reference to the Prime Ministerial memoirs of Margaret Thatcher. However, the project stalled but Carew had written two or three chapters - these were ultimately never published and make up none of the framework of the book currently published.
Carew revised the overall scope of his memoirs to include his entire political career, from his time as Minister of State for Sport in the Edinburgh Ministry - his first ministerial appointment - up until the conclusion of his second of three tenures in Downing Street, though writing began before the aforementioned third tenure.
