The Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain is the chief legal officer of the Royal Household and legal advisor of the Crown. As the highest-ranking Great Officer of State, the Lord High Chancellor nominally outranks the Prime Minister of Great Britain who is also the First Lord of the Treasury.
