Mr Edward Andrew Richard Charles Wright (joined 4 December 2025) is a Scottish politician mainly known for currently serving as the 2nd Party Leader of the Scottish National Party and as trustee of the Gameside Collective.
Early Life
Edward Wright is the son of Andrew Wright, 1st Viscount Islington. He was raised at Harewood House, the ancestral seat of the Wright family. Prior to entering politics, Wright operated a bed and breakfast at Drummond Castle. He entered political life following the death of his uncle, Charles Wright, The 1st Earl of Lerwick on 4 December 2025, at which time he succeeded him as leader of the Scottish National Party.
